Memories of Isla Blanca
On South Padre Island, Texas, there is a beach park where this old pavilion stood for years, now replaced by a newer structure. The old building cast wonderful shadows in the sun and was a place of memories, where families spent vacations and rested in the shade near the ocean. This painting began as a watercolor on canvas and then was sealed with clear gesso and completed with acrylics, with parts of watercolor showing through along the flooring of the pavilion and perhaps small bits here and there.
