Magnolia

“Magnolia” 8 x 10 acrylic on canvas. I may be partial but I believe the clean feminine scent of a magnolia flower is one (if not THE most) pleasant fragrance nature has to offer. From late spring and throughout summer in the Mississippi Delta the magnolia trees burst forth with these thick, beautiful, bright white wonders of nature. I see them often when I go for a stroll in my neighborhood. I never fail to stop and smell the magnolias. I also can not resist snapping a photo of the proudest one(s) I can reach. I painted this from one of those photos. I am still new at painting and this was no easy task for me. I really enjoyed it nevertheless and I’m always on the lookout for that next proud specimen.
