While helping at the local soup kitchen, I was assigned the job of removing the labels off the cans in preparation for recycling. As the sunlight through the window danced off the shiny surfaces of the cans I was mesmerized by the beauty of such a mundane, simple object. The next logical step was to paint it so I could enjoy the image over and over again, and share it with my audience.
