Cruising the Tomoka River

Tomoka State Park has become a favorite place to walk and paint. This Tomoka inspired painting came about after watching boaters enjoy a day cruising along the river. The skies in Florida change frequently and at times appear to overwhelm the landscape. On this particular day, the boater seemed an afterthought to the big sky. I used the technique of broken color throughout this painting to create vibrational energy. When you view the painting from a distance, you will get a sense of the warmth and light energy of the day!
