This was first painted en plein air. In this studio painting I wanted to take that moment and time and expand on the golden glow of the fleeting sunset against the dancing waves in cool lavenders and blues as they broke along on the rugged headlands. I wanted to capture the awe - inspiring and expansive feel of the sky and atmosphere of the Mendocino coastline.
