the media moves body positivism more into the background than in previous years.
Stimmeder’s Ruben-like figure, portrayed in a masterly style, celebrates the
representation of diversity, and reinforces it with an expressive facial expression but
also with the choice of accessories:
At first glance, the mask looks like armor that is supposed to protect the persona and
her identity, but on further analysis it is a symbol of sexual freedom/liberation that
can be aspired through body positivism and sex-positivism.
A mask that on the one hand protects the identity from the sight of strangers, but on
the other hand emphasizes the embodiment of sexual freedom and diversity.
