In the Distance

This was done with oil on board using a mix of brushes and palette knives. I felt like this self portrait was one that I "lived with". After being initially done with it, I left it on my easel for a while. Every time I glanced back at myself, I felt like I wasn't seeing enough of me. I'd stare at the painting up close and from a distance and nitpick different parts of it until it felt just right.
