This is the Lighthouse rock formation in Palo Duro Canyon State Park of the Texas Panhandle. This subject is special to me, because I grew up 10 minutes away from this special place. I have beheld this magnificent view several times throughout my life, and it never gets old. This studio piece was painted from photo reference, but also from years of observation and exploration.
