Girard Park Bridge
I have wanted to paint these little bridges all around Girard Park on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where I teach drawing and design, for a couple of years. They’re quaint and scream Monet’s gardens in Giverny. Being a somewhat impressionist painter and completely enamored by these little architectural park icons, I made a painting! This is a five-hour, one-sitting plein-air painting from start to finish and worked on between chats with passersby, colleagues, and friends.
